PMI organizes and/or participates in a wide variety of academic events and conferences each year. These events take place all over the world, and offer an extensive range of programming, from one-day working sessions to week-long international symposia.
Each event offers a valuable opportunity to network with a wide variety of project management academics and practitioners. Participants include deans, academic researchers and students, governmental decision-makers, expert project practitioners and professional service providers.

PMI Global Congresses bring together hundreds of participants from all over the world of project management education, research and professional practice. Preceded by GAC Accreditation Forums and PMI Research Working Sessions, the roster of activities include intensive standards working sessions and ample opportunities to network with academic peers as well as leading education providers who can offer you the guidance and resources to help you build your program.
GAC Accreditation Forums
GAC Accreditation Forums are one-day events preceding PMI congresses that are usually focused on best practices in project management curriculum development and teaching, etc. It is also an opportunity to network with other academics teaching in the discipline and learn more about the GAC accreditation process and quality standards in project management education.
PMI Research Working Sessions (ROWS)
PMI Research Working Sessions are one-day, pre-Congress research events that occur at each PMI Global Congress. They present an opportunity to discuss current research topics of interest for the project management academic community. Working sessions are organized around a specific topic each year, addressed by a panel of experts with whom participants interact.
The bi-annual PMI Research Conference brings together upward of 500 academics in various sub-fields of management science, senior executives, and project management professionals interested in project management theory, methods, and practice.
The event features a wide range of paper presentations, symposia and poster session and provides an excellent opportunity to network over the course of several days with those who shape the future of the discipline of project management.
PMI Research and Education Conference 2012 will take place in Limerick, Ireland, on 15-18 July 2012. Call for papers, symposia and incubator session proposals and posters opened on 1 June and closed on 1 December 2011. Registration for the event will open in late February 2012.
